Ableton Live 9
It's here. Ableton officialy annouced Live 9. After 3 years we have a new version of this state of art music making software coming. There is lots of buzz now about Live 9 now and people somehow loves it, I find it nice, but what we have here is few enhancements and one big new feature I like a lot.
Watch Ableton Event:
Ok. So what's new? We have new browser, nothing to die for. We have automation in session view and automations with curves, oh god, this should have been in Live 5 already. Live 9 comes with new sounds, thank you. Reworked plug-ins, compressor, gate and EQ8 plug-in with new look and features, this is handy, new Glue compressor, that's ok. Max for live included in Suite (the most expencive version of Live). New MIDI notes editing tools, that FL Studio has for years now. So far nothing special, but the last new feature is awesome and was worth waiting. I'm talking about new tools of converting audio to midi, this make Live 9 worth to buy/upgrade. Converting audio to midi will make Live 9 more excelent in what is excelent already, unleashing creativity. There are new 3 tools for converting audio to midi.
1. convert harmony to midi, 2. convert melody to midi, 3. convert drums to midi.
Check out this video to see how can this new feature is used.
Big annoucent from Ableton was not only new version of Live, but the fact Ableton steped into new market of harware controlers. They've annouced Push. It looks like it can really ease workflow of Ableton users.
